Sin is sin. In God's eyes, there is no 'big sin' or 'little sin'. So, breaking a commandment is the same as committing a sin.

To violate a commandment is to sin.

There is a theory, that to unintentional break a commandment, is to sin, but to intentionally break one, is to do evil. From that theory, one can argue that to break a commandment is worse than committing a sin.

to me breaking a commandment is committing a sin...we all sin and have come short of the glory of god.. tempting the lord thy god is worse.. but i have did some things wrong i knew i should not have done.. but i believe god is just to forgive us if we are truly sorry.. and i try not to repeat the sin..
