my dog eats only certain plants on our walks, he is not making friends with our neighbors.

Dogs eat plants due to settling their stomach or need fiber. Either way, it is a nusiance. When you take him out on walks, try using a choke collar. These do not hurt the animal in any way, shape, or form, it serves as a reminder to the animal as well as an easy way to get them to listen and pay attention to you. Whenever he starts eating a plant, keep walking and do a few gentle tugs on the leash. (note: be sure that the collar is on correctly or nothing will work here). Tell him to "leave it". If he doesn't stop, do a quick, hard tug. You won't hurt him at all. Eventually, he will stop.

Dogs will sometimes eat grass if they are having trouble with their stomach. Some plants can be harmful to your four legged friend. I think that mostly applies to house plants.

Because dogs enjoy some plants now and again. Sometimes I do think they eat it to calm their stomach.

Some dogs do eat plants to help them throw up when they don't feel well. My dog just likes to eat, she eats a lot of vegetables, loves lettuce - even without salad dressing. I think when she eats grass she looks like a deer. She just seems to think of it as her salad!

Certain plants will make your dog throw up .. It will help the dog to get ridf of worms..
Go to the Vet and get some worm pills.

They eat plants for the same reason we eat vegetables--to keep their digestion running.

The same reason cats eat certain grasses, its good for their digestion. They usually sell these in pet stores, go and ask.

they do it to bleed or because the plant is good tasted. My dog eats grass... I often say tha she isn't a dog, that she's a goat, or something like that...
