That's a really good point! Christians are part-time atheists. They chuckle when I say 'Thor bless you', as if He wasn't still around.

Actually, I'm either a complete atheist or else I believe that all the gods of everyone's culture represents that good is alive in many people, but so is evil. God and the devil are just extreme representations of that philosophy. As to the religion thing, I think it's pretty much whichever one you agree with more is the one that you back up with everything you've got, because it's something to believe in absolutely.

I am not atheistic towards everybody else's god. I believe that they all exist. I also feel that there are many that exist that we are unaware of. I am a polytheist. This doesn't mean that I worship all deities, though. I honor those that I have built a relationship with. The rest are virtual strangers to me.

I believe that different men interpreted God diferently when they spoke to them. God does not have a mouth to cause vibrations in the air, thus he spoke telepathically. But in telepathy, because two minds are different then they may interpret the message diferently. Since god is divine, it may not be possible for him to speak clearly to us.(Its like you trying to talk telepathically to an ant.) Plus I think that the different ideals that people had led to the creation of different religons. That is why I honor other religons.

I am not atheistic. God said [ Have no other God before me} It sounds as if you need to step back and take a good look at your life. Be ready when God calls. God doesn't like to be put on hold.

i like the 1st commandment, 'thou shall have not any others gods before me.' needless to say, the adult men who wrote the bible are acknowledging that different gods exist. Christians could could desire to admit that they are agnostic related to those different gods. As regularly occurring, Jon M gave a considerate answer.

because they are scared of the fact they might have picked the wrong god that they put down other gods to make themselves feel better. in all if we just look at religions as another part of life instead of a competition the world would be more peacefully. we should be able to coexist in peace

Talking from a religious standpoint, I'd say that it all has to do with your faith. I'm not going to mock you because you believe in a god that I don't...I'm just not going to necessarily agree with you. It's like saying that grass is blue. You can believe that, but I was taught a different way...that it's green. I truly believe that it's green and I have faith that it's green.
