The nude body (especially of a woman) threatens them. They despise sexual temptation or lustfullness of any kind.
But why have women in the islands always gone shirtless?

That is one thing as a Christian that I have found equally interesting. I have no idea why people find the human body such a bad taboo. According to our religions we were born naked from the dirt around us. If this is how we were meant to be, and everyone has the same parts; yes some are different but all in all the same, why is it that we find the need to sensor it and find it sinful?
You have brought up a wonderful point there.

All the Christians that I know(quite a few) are very appreciative of the beauty of the human body. So much so that they have the best marriages I've ever seen. And they compliment people freely. They also are not limited by the Hollywood image of beauty but are intrigued by those that are wrinkled and old and small and helpless
They see the beauty in the smile of a disfigured person and the attitude of a cancer sufferer.
I think this love and appreciation can make them more susceptible to sexual temptation and they therefore are very careful how much they expose themselves to ogling members of the opposite sex.

Since when do Christians dislike the human body? Obviously, you need to do some homework about Christianity before you post something like this. I suggest you find yourself a good Bible study group and begin to get educated.

I'm a Christian, and I think the human body is beautiful. I know that most people aren't honest though and it isn't really that they think the human body is beautiful, but they burn with lust for it. That is not admiring it's beauty, but defiling a perfect creation.

If that is so, why are the sales of naked photos so high? True believers do not question their God's motives or designs.

As for Christians, our God prohibits nudity. After Adam and Eve sinned, God himself killed animals and made clothes for them.

They like it too much if anything but in an impious way, it makes them feel lustful and that's not allowed so they say they dislike it because they are dishonest and devious.
