To be polite, a nod of the head is ok, making brief eye contact is permitted, you really do not have to acknowledge but most folks will mumble a "that's ok or similar.

Excuse me, with a sincere smile because you know you are looking at something but they may not. Then try your best to share the space or finish what you were looking at.
Most of the time they will appologize and give you right of way, other times they'll try to just get what they need and go leaving you to do what you were doing in the first place... looking at something somewhere for somereason.

I would clothesline their ***! Lookin' at somethin' here people!!!

I was once at Disney World and there was several huge tours their that day from Columbia and apparently there it isn't rude to run over people and push them around. So after a few hours I get pissed and I square my shoulders and decide they will start fallin' to the side, if ya' know what I mean! Here comes one women and Wham!! I shoulder blocked her *** right to the ground! My husband jumped back with his mouth open in horror. But they are right they apparently don't think it's rude 'cause she jumped up and went on without even a blink. Felt awesome!

When your in a store your in a public place and when a person says excuse me that means they recognize they are moving in front of your view but they need to get by and they are being politeby saying "excuse me". Its better than just walking in front of you like you don't exist--now that's rude! If someone does that to me-i say "excuse you". It's called manners, and too many people don't have them these days!

Just move out of the way. No need to say anything. Maybe smile. Saying "you're excused" is rude unless you are a parent letting your child leave the dinner table.

By the way, if you want to succeed in life, you will have to learn to spell properly.

You say "I'm sorry for standing so far away from the shelf that you couldn't get behind me". And in the future, don't do that anymore. People like you really annoy me when you block the aisle.

usually something non-descript like 'no problem', 'that's okay', or some such.

it's a social nicety - they need to move on past but want to acknowledge your presence and that they are possibly causing you some inconvenience whilst maneuvering past you.

it's a more pleasing way of saying 'move your danm cart out of my way and quit hogging the whole aisle' :)

Depending on the situation....I might apologize (I would be thinking "oh I am in the way" or I might say no problem, or I might just smile and step out of the way.

I usually say, "Oh, it's ok," even if I'm steaming about it because if I blow up in public, I'll look really bad in front of a lot of people.

I don't say anything. However, if the person made eye contact with me I give a polite smile.
