My Pit Bull is doing things unimaginable. The lastest thing she did was pulled the water pipe from the ground and broke it. Now water is everywhere and I have to call someone to fix it. What a drag. My husband thinks we should get rid of her but I love her and I tried telling her no but she won't listen. What do I do?!

TRAIN HER. Trying to tell her no but she won't listen indicates she's tuning you out - and she's bored - and she's finding creative ways to entertain herself because she doesn't have enough to do. Get a large crate. Look at the schedule posted elsewhere in the questions...she's crated part of the day with toys she CAN play with. She has walks, she has play interaction in the house, she has consistent time training and TEACHING her. If she isn't listening she either doesn't respect you as boss dog and/or doesn't understand what you want. Both situations need dealt with or it WILL GET WORSE. She is a powerful dog and will be able to tear up things playing that many couldn't if they tried. Get a handle on it. Get your hands on her, get her attention and MAKE her listen. I don't mean beat on her either. I mean when you tell her come have a rope on her so you can reel her in and MAKE her COME. Then PRAISE HER for coming. The fact you made her doesn't matter...she did what you asked PRAISE HER. Give her things she can play with. Give her time to play with you both in a positive way. She can be turned around. Restrict her access to things to tear up. If it means a heavy duty kennel get a heavy duty kennel. Give her no choice but the right one.

Most dogs destroy things when they are board, lonely, or nervous. Do you have toys for your dog? Also, is she being bad when she is left alone? Think of her as a toddler that wants it's parents attention.

get rid of it... how can you love a dog that does this kind of thing... if your husband came home and beat you up a few times you'd get rid of him wouldn't you?
