Humans are children of God in the sense that certain religions believe that humans were created by God in God's image. This is not the same as saying that humans are youthful Gods, so no, they will not grow up to be like God.

Given that, some religions (Mormonism, for example) do believe that particularly blessed humans can have some amount of "godliness" in the next life.

We will inherit all our father has. We were called Gods in the Bible as well.

We will be kings and priests to the most high God.

Perhaps some day God will have us become like Him. That is not clearly discussed in the Bible though.

It seems likely though.

yes, if they choose to. We are all spiritual children of our Heavenly Father and Mother. We are here to learn and to choose. If we follow his commandments we will return to live in his presence as He is. If we choose not to we will still return, but we won't want to stay in His presence.
