Octopus Hot Dogs
A fun way to liven up that ever-present kids' food. Great for bad weather days, cranky kids (or moms!), birthday parties, or just because. My daughters think I'm really cool when I make these for them. :o)
1 hot dog
ketchup, to serve
1 servings 1 octopus per hot dog

1. Cut hot dog in half length-wise, leaving about 1" intact at the end.
2. Cut each of the long sections in half (lengthwise), then in half again - these are the legs.
3. Boil until legs' curl up and hot dog is cooked through.

A nice FRESH salad with boiled eggs, fresh bio tomatoes and yellow cheese?

(a bit like chef's salad but without the unhealthy sauce and ham)

i have three kids and go to school. when i come home for lunch (dinner is made by my husband, thank goodness), i need something pronto! i bought a lot of tuna and chicken helpers (different flavors) that come in a box, and they're ready in less than 15 minutes.

i also got a lot of seafood because they cook quickly and we eat them with rice. got leftover rice? put them in the fridge and use them to make fried rice for breakfast... or dinner.

in addition to those foods, i gotta have spam. i can make so much with them and very easily because they're precooked. you can throw them in with pasta, rice, and soba! you can saute the spam with cabbage and a dash of black pepper, salt, and ajinimoto (found in asian isles). you can do whatever you can think of... whatever you can do with chicken, you can do with spam.

i also must have soba/ramen for the kids. i find that the ichiban brand, original flavor is best (these come in red packages). they're done in less than five minutes. you can eat them like that (probably for your child) or you can top them off with sliced cabbages and boiled eggs (for you) - or you can simply drop the eggs in the ramen while it's cooking, and stir. (we like this one the best).

one more thing - you can always eat breakfast for dinner. i think it's get more delicious this way.

good luck.

Mix some peas, diced red peppers, and what ever other veges you like in with some pasta sauce and pasta shapes of your choice!

with a nice pasta sauce this can be really simple and yummy... grate a little bit of cheese over it when you serve it if you want.

My little sister has loved this meal ever since she was little... one of my favs too!
