No. Allah is the same old jealous, petty, mass-murdering psychopathic Abrahamic diety of desert monotheism that is described in the Old Testament... Yawyeh... Jehovah... whatever. Christians seem to think that around 2,000 years ago, this diety developed some kind of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), in which it manifested a hippie-like personality (Jesus... spent some time on earth... can now be eaten in the form of a cracker), and some Casper the Ghost-like character with pedophilic tendencies (suspected of having impregnated a 12 or 13 year-old virgin... and being honored for it). The Moslems, however, do not share that belief; they see Allah as its same-old psychopathic self, essentially unchanged since its old-testament days... except that it seems to have updated its reward system about 1,500 years ago, when it started handing over virgins, in heaven, to be defiled by insane zealots, as a show of gratitude for them having carried out mass-murder in its name. ( I think that's what happens to Catholic nuns, after they die. Where else would they find enough virgins?)

Sweet.

I find it very interesting to note that most Christians... including Christian preachers... haven't got the slightest clue about the historical roots of their own religion, let alone any other religion.

The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values

However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.

The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus. To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.

God promised that since Muhammad is the last of the series of the Prophets and Messengers and since the Holy Qur'an is His last Book of Guidance to humanity, He Himself will guard it from any changes or corruptions till the Day of Judgment. This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.

There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an.

Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.

The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.

The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."

first Jesus was a Muslim because Hebrews received the book first and submitted to the will of God. Islam has existed since Adam and Arabs received the blessing of this religion in 620 ad. Islamic law is closely related to the law of Moses and Muslims follow the teachings of Jesus far better then Christians. any peace loving person will see the truth.

The original followers were all descendants of Abraham.

Jew/Christian: Abraham had a son Isaac with his wife Sarah. The descendants of Isaac eventually became the Jews. Christ was a Jew. After he died, followers of Christ became known as Christians.

Islam: Abraham had a son Ishmael with his wife's slave Hagar. After Isaac was born, Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away. They moved to Mecca. The descendants of Ishmael eventually became the Muslims.

FYI, the Q'uran mentions Jesus in numerous places. However, Muslims regard Jesus in the same manner that Jews do... the guy existed and was a great teacher but was not the Messiah.

Both claim ancestry to Abraham and follow parts of the Old Testament. Also the Quran is very pro-Jesus although it says he was a man and a mortal and nothing more. By the way I love how close minded people can be on here... and they wonder why the world is in the state it is?

In a nutshell, Jesus preached what Moses preached. So, in a nutshell, Jesus believed in the worship of the One God. According to Mark 12:29 Jesus said "Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord".

The Quran also states that there is only one God:

Such is God, your Lord; there is no god but He, the Creator of all things; so, worship Him (and Him alone), and He has charge of all things. (Quran 6:102)

The question is do the Christians still believe in one God. In a way they do, but the devil is in the detail. On the one hand they say that God is one. But on the other hand they have the Trinity. If God is one, then Trinity could not be true. Since according to their Trinity, God is one, but he has three parts. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. If God is one, then who might a Son of God be. Wouldn't he be yet another God. If the God is one, and the Son is simply an aspect of the same God, then what happens when the Son is sacrified. Since the Son is the same the God, has the God sacrificed himself. And who is Jesus addressing to in the verses:

John 14:28 My Father (GOD) is greater than I"
Luke 23:46 Jesus said "Father (GOD), into thy hands I commend my spirit"

The reality is that you can't have it both ways. You either stick with what Jesus told you to stick with, i.e.,
Mark 12:29 Jesus said "Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord".

Or you are screwed. 3 is not equal to 1. No matter how you look at it, except, if you just say that things cannot be explained.

The link between Islam and Christianity is in the original teaching of Jesus, not in the twisted paganistic positions of the Trinity Doctrine.

Mohamed the Prophet, saw Jesus as a good man and an inspiration. He applauded his teachings, and the Bible is actually seen as a Holy Book. Jesus is not however, seen as THE prophet and savior. The Quran, Islam's holy book, is based on Mohamed's visions and teachings. He was a military leader back in his day, and that is why violence is seen as a solution, not like the peaceful Jesus in Christianity.

They are both "People of the Book" acknowledging a common spiritual descent from Abraham and Judaism. Purportedly, at the time that Muhammed began having his visions and codifying them he invited the Jews to participate in the creation of Islam as a religion as he viewed them as 'elder brothers'. As is pretty obvious from current conditions the Jews he extended that invitation to rejected it. Christianity, of course, is a little more obvious in its relationship to Judaism, since Christ himself was a Jew.

The both have the old testament, just like Judaism. Islam however focuses on Mohammad as their prophet.

2006-07-17 19:52:43 · answer #9 · answered by ERIC B 3 · 0 0

They are not.

Islam denies the death of Jesus on the cross. Islam denies that God has a son (Allah does not begat nor is begotten)....Islam does not point to Jesus Christ as the only son of God who died on a cross, rose again, and is the only way to salvation.

This is an often confused point: Allah and the God of the bible are not the same.

In my opinion, Allah is a false god. There is only the God of the bible...and there is only one way to God, through His son, Jesus.
