yes, i think that there should be more than 1 language in elementary and middle schools. Some schools do offer it but at a very small scale. i think it should be mandatory.

No, American schools should not be taught in anything but English. Other languages are offered with the student opting to take the course(s). To offer a foreign language as a primary teaching tool would hinder everyone from learning English, which is the language of America. Granted, there are many different cultures within our country and should be because that's how America was born, but to let any different ethnic culture eliminate our basic language would be a terrible injustice to our freedom.

What good does that do? Why bow down to the spanish language. People speak English in this country and therefore schools should teach English only. Why learn Spanish? It is not the universal language of business like English is. When these spics move to other areas of the country, they will not be able to get good jobs etc. because they do not know good English.

No, our school needs to be taught in English only.
I have nothing against ESOL or other remedial classes taught in as many language as necessary, but the whole purpose should be so that the students can learn English well enough in order to integrate themselves into regularly taught classes in English.
English is the language of the land. All visitors should respect the culture of the people who established this country and integrate, if they wish to live here.
Based on personal experience, learning English is not THAT difficult when one put their mind to it, especially when student is pre-adult age.
By the way, are you talking about foreign language as a second language, or whole class taught in multiple languages? I'm all for people learning second or third languages...

That's due to the population of California. I think it is very important to begin learning a second language, for example for a year or two in high school. Then it needs to be a person's choice here in the US if they want to pursue language further. It isn't a necessity for many of us here.

faculties coach overseas language, yet no longer a lot. maximum scholars do not take any overseas language till severe college (grades 9-12), and then many times only 2 years of one million overseas language (maximum typically Spanish, French, German, or Latin). i'd favor faculties to coach overseas language early on, and proceed in the course of the education. i imagine the US falls in the back of alternative international places interior the actual shown actuality that we may be able to generally only talk a million language fluently (English).

I don't think that schools should be taught in any subject. However, I do think that students should be taught to speak, read and write at least one other language
