There you go, using logic and reason.
The story of the great flood, like most of the allegory and metaphor in the Old and New testaments, predates monotheism.
Christians want use a 2000 year old collection of folk tales to rule the modern world. Great stories and good ideas but not historical.
It is like trying to use the instructions your Great Grandfather who didn't speak English, wrote down for his Model A to tune your Corvette.

First off, there was no ocean then.
There were lakes and the earth crust was covering the whole earth.
When the earth cracked and ripped all the way around it, this is what caused the water to come up into the sky and cause such severe rain and flooding. If you look at a map of the world, land only (including the ocean floor) you will see a crack that runs around the earth and either starts or stops in the middle east.
Second the bible never said anything about killing fish.
I hope this is enough of an answer for you.. if not, ask again with more detailed info.. thank you for asking.

You can change the salinity level in your aquarium and end up killing all of your fish. Or you can add something with the water, since the water was coming from the ground it wasn't exactly clean and it will kill the fish. There were also other changes in the environment besides a lot of water wich would have made the climate uninhabitable for some animals.

I know how to catch a fish.
You need a hammer and a watch.
Put the watch in the water and when the fish swims up to see what time it is you hit it with the hammer.
Great floods.
We call them super tsunamis now.
Imagine coming back to an area after a yearly migration pattern and seeing the destruction.
Something to remember and to tell your grand kids about.

Good question. I guess the salt-water creatures would die because the flood waters diluted the salt content of their environment. Similarly, maybe the freshwater creatures died because the water became salty due to the mixing of rain water and ocean water.
Just a thought.

The majority of genesis is an analogy to try and help explain to the early humans hw God created the planet. The flood is also part of that analogy.

Read Genesis chapters six through nine before you ask a question about it. As far as I know, God never intended to kill marine life. Anyway, I don't believe the flood story is true. You should read my question about Noah's Ark.

The fountains of the great deep broke up. The fountains of the great deep would have been like temporary geysers with very hot water. The fish would have died from temperature shock.

It doesnt say God killed all creatures. Only He was grieved with the people, who constantly disobeyed Him, He destroyed them with the flood.
