This sounds kinda weird but I read recently that if you would place a bar of bath soap under the covers, down near your legs, in bed with you that it would help R.L.S.

If restless leg syndrome is due to your body needing blood sugar during the night, cause you are going low, then eating a snack before bedtime that is high in protein, but has some low glycemic carb and some good fat will likely stop it from happening.
You may want to check out the symptoms page at www.hufa.org to see if you have other symptoms of low blood sugar.

The best way that I have found to deal with my restless leg syndrome is to eat a banana and have a glass of milk before going to bed. Usually this can help make the "attacks" more bearable. When I find that my "helper" is not strong enough then a quinine pill helps also. However, I was told not to use quinine while pregnant, so please check with your doctor. Best of luck.

Depending on the severity of the occurrances, discuss with your doctor to try Requip. It's for moderate to severe restless leg syndrome with 15 or more occurrances every month. In the source area is the website of the medication. I have it too but it's mild & the medication won't be effective for me.

i had RLS, BECAUSE of a drug that i was taking. i didn't really need that drug, so then i came off of it. but when i was on it, as long as i took it within 30 mintues of falling asleep, i would be fine. if i couldn't get to sleep, i that would suck and i would end up being up for a couple hours tossing and turning and stretching. i would also run a hot bath and just stay in until i was totally about to pass out and then get out and go straight to bed. you can imagine how much this sucked!! this drug was seroquel just incase you are on it. another crappy thing, is that i was originally prescribed to take the med in the morning. this would mess my day up like no other. i couldn't imagine having RLS all day everyday.
conclusion: re-evaluate all your medications, i really think most RLS comes from drugs and in the mean time, or if that doesn't work, sit in the bath tub with a good book.

I have this, I have found that simple exercise helps..walking around and peddling my bike. I also do take some tylenol, At times it works and some it does not, but still I found the walking to be the best.

A family member had this and used a medication that totally cured it and she can actually sleep well through the night now. I'll try to find out what it is. or check online.

Talk to your DR about Mirapex or Neurontin. There's also an anti-depressant that may help. N

jogging in place, squats, massages, a warm bath. Usually to be put on a medication for it you have to have it frequently, like a few times a week and I only have it a few times a month.

id you don't have any medication prescribed from a doctor than the best is to get up and walk around... i have RLS just as well.. i know how irritating it can get when it starts up right as your going to sleep.
