My son is turning 14 soon and I asked him what he wanted to do and he said go to hooters and than a limo ride to the local mall, really I've thought about having a flag hunt in the woods with paint ball guns and than having a dance party with a "bartender" and invite some girls so they can have a "dance club" theme.

I'm not an expert in any way. I'm only a minister in the innercity so bare with me. I would invite all of his friends, as many as possible based upon what ever budget you have. Get a ton of pizzas and invite his friends over. Have them chill out for a while, eat food, listen to music. After a while do something fun. A movie is always a good idea. Send him and his friends out to a movie. Not to be offensive, but parrents aren't always the best thing to have around. I know that when I was 14 I didn't want to chill out with my mom. When he is with his friends, he can relax, be stupid, fit in, and have fun. It's good to have a ton of friends because I know that if nobody came to my party, I would feel a little down, to say the least. Paintball is a good idea, I think any guy of any age loves to shoot his friends with tiny balls of paint that sting like crazy. It won't hurt him and he'll have a great time. Lazer tag is another alternative to paintball. Skate parks are awesome for skate boarding, rollerblading, or biking. Do some thing adventurous like rock climbing or an airsoft capture the flag tournament in the woods. The sky is the limit. Just make it adventurous, fun, and a ton of friends. Hopefully, that should work.

Take him and a few friends to see the new Superman movie, then out for Pizza or to play miniature golf and hotdogs; or a houseparty with girls invited to for some dancing & hors d'ouvres or something "grown up". 14 is a unique age...what are his interests? Perhaps a visit to a local museum....a chaperoned beach party. Have you asked him what he wants to do? Could be a loaded question but he may be able to give you some real insight. I'm just guessing 'cause I only raised girls and it's been 18 years since the last one turned 14? Sorry I couldn't offer more help! Good luck and congratulations to the birthday dude!

If this is a party to happen sometime soon.....how about a pool party? Definitely have a boy/girl party.

Maybe have it in the evening and do a cookout with a dance floor. Definitely have music no matter what.

Have you asked the boy what he would like to do? Go with what he enjoys, of course! Skatepark, rollerskating, bowling, dance party at the house, trip to the lake/beach, what does he want or like?

Take them to one of those buffet places where they can pig out, and then to the movies. They'll have fun making a mess in the restaurant, then be too full to run up much of a bill at the snack bar. And they'll fall asleep! And you don't have to clean up!
