He didn't. Humans evolved from other apes - they are a species of ape in fact. And the apes evolved from other primates that ultimately evolved from unicellular organisms.
So there.
On second thoughts, maybe he was bored and wanted some pretty women to jack off to and after waiting for billions of years the best he could find was Jewish virgin with a mustache. Go figure.

God created Adam in His own image to rule over the fish, fowl, beasts, and to tend to the earth and plants that He had created. Then He created Eve from Adam's rib so Adam would have a helpmate and be able to mutiply and replenish the earth. He gave them the ability to think and make decisions. Eve chose to follow the serpent. She gave Adam some of the fruit from the tree after she had had eaten of it and they both saw good and bad. Before they only saw good. The humans were to choose to follow God and be thankful to Him for everything but they made a bad decision and God punished them and the serpent. Then they bore two sons. The story goes on but is over 20 pages!

I feel confident that if he had it all to do over again, God would forget the human being concept of populating the earth, and just finish his work with the other animals and plants. Just goes to show you that even God probably cut class when the idea of mankind was being discussed.

God and the Gods are a human invention. The Universe was here far longer than God was.

We are told in the Bible that God created human beings for His good pleasure and for Him to fellowship with, to love Him and to be loved by Him. Also, he created us to give us gave us dominion over all other things.

It was not God's purpose for Adam and Eve to die. They were designed to live forever as perfect humans, and they were to stay on the earth, and have children and take care of the earth and all its living things.
God wanted to share the beauty of life with mankind. He wanted us to be happy,on earth forever. And in the near future His purpose will still be realised.

i believe that we are a mirror of god and through us god too can learn .. we are able to hurt . love, feel , empathise, cry, laugh, all those physical emotions that god ( being a perfect being ) cannot achieve
and through us we give him experiences , through us he/she learns about themself
i also believe that we progress here and in spirit until one day joining with the god energy ( the ultimate goal )
the book Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsh explains this nicely

read Genesis
He created us in His image...
besides that the answer is IN THERE: The Book of Books,
from Genesis through Revelation.
you don't have to go to a theology school to understand that Book. "It is not in the sky"... meaning not so highgly written that you cannot undrstand and relate to and be edifyied.
Enjoy the journey! and share with me what you find!
