Anyone ever listen to these guys and were amazed on how they incorporate great concepts and knowledge into their magically transcending music? Also, favorite Rush song/lyrics.

I LOVE Rush.

Fave song Different strings ( has a deep personal memory for me)

What happened to our innocence-
Did it go out of style?
Along with our naivete'-
No longer a child
Different eyes see different things
Different hearts beat on different strings
But there are times
For you and me
When all such things agree.

All there really is
The two of us
And we both know why we've come along
Nothing to explain
It's a part of us
To be found within a song

And also Ghost of a chance ( I believe there is a ghost of a chance)

Oh I love your questions. Can I adopt you ?

I am a fan of Rush but I personally don't see their music as spiritual so much as socially and politically aware.

My favorite Rush song is The Spirit of Radio

Lyrics from the above song:

One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

My favorite band!

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.

If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.

You can from phantom fears and kindness that can kill.

I will choose a path that's clear. I will choose freewill.

Alex doesn't get the credit he deserves because he's juxtapositioned next to Geddy and Neil. Neils lyrics are inspired from his reading and life experience.

Most people that "get" Rush are musicians or deep thinkers.

I love, Mission, Time Stand Still, Tom Sawyer. Do a search on song meanings rush. You'll love the insight on what inspired them ( mostly Neil to write the lyrics.)

You made my year with your question. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't go so far as to consider them a spiritual band, they're more an intellectual band and their work incorporates spiritual thems on occasion when necessary... like the futuristic world of 2112, or the themes in Xanadu.

favorite songs: Subdivisions, The Trees, Natural Science.

CLOSER TO THE HEART - spiritually transcendant music!

And the men who hold high places must be the ones to start to mould a new reality closer to the heart, closer to the heart.

The blacksmith and the artist reflect it in their art.
Forge their creativity closer to the heart, closer to the heart.

Philosophers and plowmen, each must know his part
to sow a new mentality closer to the heart, closer to the heart.

And CANADIAN to boot - Geddy Lee ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
