I love America and I can't blame you. I'm speaking about education, medias, politics....
don't take it too much personally! ; )

It's because our society is motivated by prejudices. A lot of media has figured out this works. You see it all over the place...
-gay marriage ban being twisted into 'they want to take from you by devalueing your marriage' -
-anti-immigration becoming all about illegals and not actually about immigrants(they want to take your job).

Stuff like that. This keeps the ppl's anger motivated and as long as ppl are blaming and fighting, they aren't talking and learning = ignorance.

I am an American and I'm only ignorant about some things.

I don't read Harry Potter, I don't know the name of Paris Hilton's dog, and I could care less if mini skirts are in fashion this season. But I do know what is going on in the world (news-wise not celeb/fashion/trend - wise).

What's your excuse?

Well that's a dumba** question if I ever heard one. And you could just be an American yourself trying to stir things up. Isn't there enough intolerance for foreigners by some already, for you to choose to do this? By the way see how easily the claws & prejudices come out? Nobody stops to think. Great world we live in, aren't you guys proud of yourselves?

Well Tom, I am nor have I ever been ignorant. We have a lot of good honest and hardworking people over here that probably don't care too much for your insulting remarks. So Tom, go take a nice chill pill and try to think of a more intelligent question or are you smart enough to think of one?

Because the schools, media, and government have been taken over by people who want us to remain ignorant.

Some of us have rebelled and seek out knowledge for ourselves, independant of the above resources.

Most of the non-Americans who think Americans are ignorant are much more ignorant themselves. I think you're a case in point.

NYC? If you are in America, why don't you become a teacher, and help out? Or go into business and make money with your vast intelligence and experience?
