It isn't red and it isn't a pimple because there is not a bump or raised area at all. In fact, it almost seems as though there is an indentation in the area.

It could be a number of things... something as simple as a pimple, or something as serious as the beginning of a scalp infection. If it keep bothering You, or starts to spread to other parts of the scalp, than You better see Your Doctor or a Dermatologist.

is it a pimple? i saw on tv a woman who went to belize on a vacation and weeks after she got home she had a big sore bump, well some sort of a fly had laid an egg in her hair, it went into her head and they had to cut the bump open and pull out this huge ugly grub.

A pimple possible, an ingrown hair, a small cyst or something under your scalp. Can you look at it to see if it's red?

it could be a pimple. during the summer heat, your head sweats and it causes oil and it could be that it is forming therefore causing some soreness.
