He was looking over the blue prints.
Remember this was before we had CAD (computer assisted drawing)

There was no first day...God is merely a metaphor for the concept of the energy that maintains and creates all that exists in the universe. The alagory of the bible has left many aspects of the "creation of the earth" out. First of all, the earth is only one small tiny almost incomprehensibly small piece of the entire "universe". Therefore to suggest that the day the earth was created was the first day of the existence of "time" is ludicrous. Also, time does not exist. Time is merely a theoretical mechanism for understanding the passage of events. In reality, everything that ever happens, ever has happened, or ever will happen, happens all at the same time, but in such a large scale that it appears to be divided. We also developed time because of the constant appearance of what is now called the sun in our atmostphere. So constant, and at such consistent intervals, that we were able to judge an "amount of time" by its passing. Don't confuse the bible as a factual document, as it was never intended as such. God is not an entity that created anything. God is not a conscious being of any kind. God is simply everything that is, ever was, and ever will be.

There was no BEFORE the first day. It was the beginning of time. Some people may think that the heavens and the earth were the first things God created, but he really created time immediately before that, hence the beginning.

first of all, in case you have not got self assurance in creation or smart layout, take a direction or 2 in biochemistry. The clotting cascade and different irreducibly complicated systems make me ask your self how any biochemist ought to have self assurance in evolution. Now directly to Genesis. sure, they have been literal days ("...and the evening and the morning have been the 1st day..."etc.). It isn't smart for them to be longer than one literal day, quite often via a logistical concern. If God created plant life on the third day, yet did no longer create the sunlight until eventually the fourth day, then does not all the plant life die out if the days have been figurative rather than literal? sure the Bible says that God is older than the worldwide, via fact guy has not at all been a image of toughness. evaluating God's life to the lifespan of an universal guy could be like saying that a guy became into alive in the previous the beginning (hatching?) of a particular fruitfly--it is too small a yardstick. the worldwide became into the oldest factor around for the early Bible writers. they did no longer understand the age of the celebs, yet in the direction of the lineages of their oral and written histories they'd get a thorough approximation of the age of the earth. additionally do no longer forget that "heaven" has better than one meaning in the Bible. There are 3 heavens--the 1st heaven is the ambience of the earth. the 2d heaven is the sunlight, moon, stars, etc. The third heaven is what we in many circumstances think of of as heaven--the situation the place God is residing. Genesis talks concerning to the creation of the firmament (and later calls it heaven). It then is going directly to chat concerning to the separation of the two substantial bodies of water--the water in the sky (water vapor or clouds) and the water in the oceans, lakes, seas, rivers, etc. is wise to me.

Actually, God created the earth in 6 days. oh btw, he created man on the 6th day, rested on the 7th, then created Adam on the 8th day, also Adam and Eve are the direct lineage to Jesus Christ, not the father and mother of all humans. don't beleive me, go read Genisis again. Maybe there has been millions of universes before ours. God has always been and always will be. the possibilities are endless

As a believer in Intelligent Design, the seven days themselves are an analogy for the diferent time periods in which God guided the growth of life on Earth.
