I have a stamp in my passport that extends my work/residency rights through summer of next year (Am waiting for conditions to be removed and for 10-year Green Card to be issued). Passport expires next month and want to renew but need to ensure the stamp (basically my one proof of legal residency) is not lost. Wasnt sure what the procedure was to renew? Thanks so much.

Don't worry. You don't have to renew the "I-551" entry stamp (in fact, you can't do that). Just make sure that your own embassy doesn't keep the old passport, but returns it to you. Then, if you travel outside the US, just carry both passports. CBP will usher you right in with no hassle at all.
