Terrier used the AN/SPG-55 as a shipboard guidance radar. A portable SPG-55 would have been quite impractical.

Yes - I was a launcher platoon commander in the USMC 1st Medium Anti-Aircraft Missile (MAAM) Battalion at 29 palms in 1956 & 1957. We had the Terrier missile. Later, while working at Aerojet-General Corporation, I worked on the development of the solid propellant rocket motors for the Hawk and Tartar missiles and several other rocket.

well wikipedia says their from the same era (1960s). if you think that they used the terrier first then your probably right.
