Only if you don't eat it in moderation. Too many nitrates. Eating one now and then is no biggie.

Slim Jims, like all other foods, do have a shelf lifestyles, however it's for much longer than many other foods. It has preservatives, plus it is rather dehydrated to avoid any germs from surviving in it. There is an expiration date on the package deal, but it is generally there just for the reason that the FDA requires it. It will possibly out survive most other meals.
