no they have hair for a reason. during different seasons it has different purposes and during the summer it is to keep them from getting a sun burn and during the winter it is to keep them warm. don't worry about it making them hot in the summer because the coat is thinner in the summer time. if your dog seems to be getting to hot in the summer allow him to come in during the day and keep him supplied with plenty of fresh cool watter.

It's okay to cut the hair that's infront of their eyes, but often not neccessary as breeds with this issue are farsighted and don't notice the hair. However, you should never shave your dogs hair or cut it very much in the summer. I know it seems like it would make it hotter, but the hair actually works as an insulator and regulates the body temperature. Of course, you can cut your dogs hair under it's feet, the extra hair on it's legs, in the privacy area, and any of the "extra" hair. If you're still not sure what you should cut try looking at the breed standard for your dog's breed or ask a groomer.

If your dog has long hair such as a shih tzu, poodle, maltese, etc etc...then definatley yes. Especially if you aren't brushing their coat properly and they get matted. For dogs like goldens, labs, shepherd etc....it's good to get all the undercoat once in a while. Groomers (at least I do/did) use an HV dryer, which really helps get a lot of the dead undercoat out of their hair. I used to be a groomer, and am now a vet tech, but I still groom my dogs regularly.

nicely i'm australian and we do not many times tip. i'm certain that my groomer is getting a respectable salary so i do not favor to subsidise it with a tip. in united states although minimum salary is a lot below ours meaning you pay a lot less for such issues as grooming. so once you tip you're subsidising the groomers salary yet you aren't to any extent further being ripped off because the cost of the service changed into below it may were to commence with. besides, that is only somewhat international information for you. if it were me i'd tip 10% except the service changed into fantastic. my groomer is superb, i drop my dogs off for 3 or 4 hours because the groomer loves her. yet also because minnie is only a million year old my groomer works truly slowly mutually with her, even as minnie has had sufficient she places her down and shall we her play with the different dogs that are there for grooming and her own dogs. so minnie no longer only receives groomed yet she receives desensitised and socialised. so my groomer expenses about $50, 10% is $5 yet i'd probably supply her $10-$15 because she does one of those very good activity.

It does actually benefit them because it keeps their fur tidy so it doesnt knot up. When it is very hot in the summer time and older animals are outside, maggots have a hey day with the messy furred animals which could make your pet worse off. It makes them cooler too and keeps the air circulating properly through it.

yes it does..you want to keep the hair cut around the eyes..a hair cut helps you keep an eye out for fleas & ticks or any other skin problem.. don't shave them unless its necessary.. you can do just a puppy cut...thats always cute on a dog..they feel better after a bath too..

dogs really need hair cuts not just because beauty or because the weather is hot and if it was just about th weather they change their winter hair for their summer hair so the hair cuts are to prevent your dog from infections

My dog can see better when I cut his hair, he doesn't run into things as much as when I don't. I think it also keeps them cool in the summer

absolutely NOT. in fact if you cut your dogs hair you are hurting it, not helping it.

a dogs coat helps regulate their body temperature. leave your dog be!

just keep them groomed well if you shave a dog that could leave them open for skin problems there coats are there to protect them.
