I have odd size couches, and the store bought couch covers are way to big and bulky. I want to make my own, but having a difficult time figuring out how to go about it.

Check with all the patterns available for slip covers, that would be Simplicity, McCalls, Vogue, Butterick, find the pattern that closely resembles your shape of couch or chair, and find the one that looks the easiest to do. Sometimes, too many details are not necessary, go for simple and the result will be awesome.

Drape the fabric over the couch and pin it to fit. Sew the seams and turn the seams in and voila! You have a slipcover!

check mcalls and simplicity pattern books at store that sells those patterns, and don't get side tracked with all the other patterns that you find. lol
