If you are 18 or older you can be held legally responsible for any trouble you get into.To make puschases that is, any age to have an account

Says who? My kids had email addresses when they were still in grade school.

Now, that said, SOME email services choose not to deal with minors. They can run their business however they like. Don't give them your money, choose someone more cooperative.

No, I dont' know what the minimum age is but my neice is 9 and has one. I think with Yahoo that if you're under a certain age, your parents have to set it up for you.

I have grandchildren that are under 18 and they each have a yahoo acct. We keep in touch through email.
