I agree with dudley. Muscular cramps that have no apparent cause are usually a lack of water and potassium. Eat a banana and drink at least 6 eight oz. glasses of water every day.

If you're cramping due to exercise, don't drink cold water while you're exercising and only take small swallows at a time. Don't guzzle the water. Drink a sports drink like gatorade. This will help restore your electrolyte balance and prevent cramping.

If, after a couple days of increased water intake you still have cramps, get yourself to a doctor. It could be a sign of something serious (like DVT - deep vein thrombosis, which can cause aneurysms).

Increase your intake of potassium, magnesium, sodium in moderation, plenty of water AND see your doctor to see if you're just dehydrated or if you have a serious illness that's affecting your electrolytes.
