Chances that you will have a heart attack are slim, based on your lifestyle and family history.
Nothing anyway can say will help as this is something that you are worrying about and words won;t take that fear away.
Perhaps if you have insurance you can go see you doctor and ask him to run an EKG, which would show any abnormalities of your heart and put your mind to rest.
Get on with your life hun!!! Its out there waiting for you.
all the best

I am not a doctor, but from what you have said, I really don't think you are a candidate for a heart attack any time soon.
However, if you are really concerned, perhaps you should think about stopping smoking. Smoking puts you at more of a risk for heart disease than the average non smoker.
I really don't think you should give it another thought, try to put it out of your mind.
If you are still worried, you can always visit your doctor and have him do a cardiac fitness test on you. That way you would know for sure that you have nothing to worry about.
Either way, I wish you much luck in overcoming this situation. I know you can do it! Stop worrying and enjoy life!

You need to be on medication for hypertension if your blood pressure is always that high. Just because of your family history, you have reason to be concerned, but all you need to do is see a doctor regularly to find out what your risk is. Make sure to eat right and exercise regularly, that'll lower your chances a lot. I actually knew someone who had a stroke at 19, so it's never too young to start taking action about stuff like this. As long as you stay healthy and keep your blood pressure in check, you should be fine though :)

You should get your first number down to 120/60. Stop smoking. You can't afford to smoke. You may not ge a heart attack, but you may get a stroke in 30 years if you don't stop. That's not fair to your kids for a lousy ciggarette.
My cousin has had 3 strokes at age 30, and my mom died at 54. I do have a family history and take BP medication. But then my granpa lived to 100, so you never now. Your young. Have fun
and don't worry so much. You'll just end up getting an ulcer.

I would go to a doctor if you are worried, but I don't think that you have too much to worry about. 140/60 is the prime heart rate, it is only when you get into your twenties and thirties that you should start worrying. if you have no family history of it, I wouldn't worry until then

Eat healthy and exercise. If you eat healthy, exercise, don't smoke/drink and have no history of it, then why are you worrying at your age? 140/60 isn't bad at all. Go see a doctor.

Keep up a healthy lifestyle, eat and drink in moderation, use little salt, stop the smoking altogether, and you should be fine. Don't start any bad habits.

Yes! As long as you keep taking care of yourself, you're bound to live a very long life. If you give up the occasional cigarette, you might even add a few years =)
