There is this guy that asked me out the other day and I haven't replied him yet. He is a really nice guy and all but he has a very short temper and is bipolar. He is great as a friend, but not someone I can see dating. I am scared of saying no. What should I do? Yea he has threatened many people including me in years before. I am really scared of him but he was a great friend before. I try to stay calm and help him buy he just loses it sometimes and it is hard. I really don't think it would be a safe relationship but he doesn't know how to take no and I don't know really what to do.

Tell him, that you really don't view him as more than a friend. And if you two are good friends, tell him that you wouldn't wanna jeopardize that friendship.

Well dear you have already answered your own question by stating that he is not someone you can see yourself with. Another reason is, if you are scared to answer then he is not the one for you. But to let him down easy, tell him about the things you like about him and then give him a clear and definite no and explain why. If you are more afraid of his response, do it in a very public place or around people you trust.

If you are scared of saying no because you are afraid that he will react violently, then obviously hes not a guy you would want to date. If you are scared of saying no because you are conflicted and think he is a really great guy, but not sure how a relationship would be, than i say take the chance.

why would u be scared of saying no?

hon... just because ur bipolar doesn't mean he can't show u a good time. just because he's bipolar doesn't mean he's carzy - that's too much of a sterotype. give him a chance 2 show u a good time. as long as u 2 r going out as friends there's no harm in it. u never know, he might show u the best fun u've ever had!

You shouldn't date someone just because you are scared of saying no. That is just setting yourself up for a completely unhealthy relationship where you can never tell him no and that is very dangerous.

If you don't feel like he is the right one, just tell him that he's not your cup of tea. If you lead him on or if you give him the impression that he has a chance, a future heartbreak is bound to occur. Save time and energy and end it clear cut.
