Below is my home-made diet, it's not a fad diet or a crash diet at all.=)

Do not make a high goal, first of all. It's a health risk to lose more than 3 pounds a week and can decrease your confidence. Besides, that much in a week would probably be water weight, which comes right back.

Try taking a walk for 30 minutes a day, adding 10 minutes each week. Once you get up to an hour long walk, start biking or jogging for 20 minutes a day, adding on minutes once again. By the time you are biking or jogging for an hour a day, just keep at it and you'll keep losing.

If your weight doesn't move, don't sweat it. It's because you are gaining muscle mass and losing fat at the same time. Did you know muscle weighs DOUBLE that of fat while taking up the same amount of space? It does! If you feel really bad about your weight not changing though, do some mesurments. They will probably be lower numbers.

Remember to EAT YOUR BREAKFAST. Eating Breakfast will reduce your hunger and increase your energy throughout the day. You should have a large breakfast, smaller lunch, and light dinner. Or you can have multiple small meals throughout the day. Avoid snacking at night (after 9 PM), and when you really want junk food, eat a half serving and substitute the other half with a fruit or veggie. Make sure you drink water too, it's helpful in losing weight faster. Be sure to lay off soda...it's high in cals.
------------------------------

The types of things to watch out for:

-High-sodium foods; they make you retain water. If you are outside sweating tons, it is great for you, but if you are indoors in the AC, don't go nuts eating it. It does make you gain weight when you retain too much water, it also makes you chubbier.

-High saturated fat and trans-fat foods; too much of this stuff can put you at risk for heart disease and make your BAD cholesterol shoot up significantly.

------------------------------

The types of things to go ahead and gobble:

-Foods with monounsaturated fats; These lower total cholesterol and bad cholesterol while raising the good cholesterol.=)

-Foods with polyunsaturated fats: These do the same thing, though they will not raise good cholesterol.

-Fiber; this is a natural laxitive and is good for weight loss. It doesn't make you puke, though. It just helps out your metobolism/digestion.;)

------------------------------

That's how I lost 85 pounds of fat and gained 20 pounds of muscle in 6.5 months. I started at 5"3 and 192 pounds, and I'm now 5"6 and 127 pounds (I'm 14 and still growing).

Best of luck!

Fist of all, congrats on your wedding! I will be married this Saturday and we are very excited!

I've seen my fiance she about 10-15 lbs. of fat in the past 3-4 months just my eating smaller portions at meal time. Also, she has a light snack (fruit or bar) about 2 times per day. Rather than "diet" she has lost more by eating more of the right things and much less of the greasy foods.

If you combine this eating concept w/ 30 minute per day of physical activity, you'll experience 2X's the results! I do push-ups, crunches, pull-ups, jogging, and/or swimming for 30 minutes, 6 days a week to keep myself firm and fit.

Also, I recommend taking a quality multi like Double X and other weight management or energy supplements that fit your profile. You can easily view examples of these kinds of products at my health store: http://aforrey.qhealthzone.com/Default.aspx

Best wishes to you,
adamray

You are going to laugh at this, but when you need it, please remember my suggestion.

Dieting is not about your conscious world. The world you see while you are awake and alert is not where you seek food. Your attraction and consumption of food begins in your body itself, in a place that your willpower, your planning, and your reading will not typically reach. That's why diets fail.

How can you influence your unconscious world?

Hyponosis is one method. Perhaps you can ask another question about it and learn more.

The other way is to learn, in a very deep way, how to love yourself for who you really are. As you enter your marriage, that is an excellent time for self-exploration and understanding.

Don't think about dieting. Think about how you can reach your peak experience on a daily basis - such as you find when you are exercising, enjoying a very clean home, enjoying a walk in the park with friends.

As you enjoy food, slow down and savor it. Focus on the flavor and senses of each tiny nibble. That fool's your brain which has the habit of experiencing a meal of a certain length - by keeping that length, but reducing the food drop, you get the same internal experience of a meal without the food.

Oh well, I hope these help. Congratulations!

Andy

I have a small contracting business and used one of my old step vans to store odd tools, surplus nails ,screws, etc, etc, when one very snowy morning we saw these two little heads sticking up taking their first view of the world.
With in a few weeks those two heads, belonging to kittens adopted my wife and I.
One major problem. I'm a chronic asthmatic and wouldn't you know, cats are my worst allergen.
OK so it's a life of sprays and pills. But I still occasionally would have a problem.
So I quit smoking.
OK, a little better yet. But I'd still have a problem from time to time. My wife pointed out my asthma always seemed to bother me when I'd have cheese, milk or any dairy products.
So, naturally I cut back on my dairy products.
It helped. So I stuck to it and cut back my intake of dairy. Way back....
and I started to lose weight, a lot of weight actually.
and I ate everything else and plenty of it.
But, dairy is enormous. milk, eggs, butter,is in almost everything that's good.
Now, even my coffee is black. Most breads are a problem.
cakes are out. I pick one meal a week and break the rules.Usually Sundays. Pancakes with eggs, toast with butter, milk with my coffee.
Ya know, I haff'ta say I feel pretty good, I eat very good and just about as much as I want. Not stupid but really ok.
That's my personnal experience with losing weight.
It certainly works.
Good luck with whatever you try. Just don't ever make yourself sick.

it really depends on what you like to eat...
what I would suggest you do is to buy a session with a personal trainer at a gym...you don't need to buy a whole bunch of sessions just a few and they actually help you set up a diet that works for you and can help you maximize you exercise effiency...just make sure you check out the trainer first...ask to talk to clients they alreay have or if they have any recommendations...anyways congrats on getting married and good luck!
