This makes as much sense as an arranged marriage.
You meet somebody and get married knowing absolutely nothing about them.
Some people get lucky and learn to love each other. Others are not so lucky and live a live of misery.
Oh yeah, this is the age of the disposable marriage. If we are not happy - we can get a divorce! Marriage vows? What are they? I thought it was just some legal mumble-jumble gobblygook - I didn't know it was an actual commitment!
Note: I did sense the joking intent of your message - it is just sad that some people (not necessarily those who have reply to you) would actually do something so foolish as to meet a total stranger and elope in one night. Good luck finding the lady of your dreams though!
