the worst was the first morning, being woke up at 0400 with garbage can lids getting banged together, that really sucked.
The best part was graduation and seeing the tears of pride in my Mom's eyes when i saw her for the first time in 8 weeks,
there is a pride that stays with you forever, anytime you see a fellow service member you have a bond, a bond you can take with you to the grave.
Yeah boot was rough for the first week or so, but after you get knocked down to nothing and they re-mold you it becomes a routine, and the further you get the easier it becomes, toward the end it's actually fun!

I think the best thing about Basic Training is you go there not knowing what to expect & come out almost completly different person. I attented my Basic at Ft. Knox, KY back in 2000.
When my parents saw me, they almost didnt recongize who I was. I loved the training I got & came out with some pretty cool memories.

The best---- that little bunk after the first day's PT. The worst--- knowing that not long after graduation, alot of these Brothers were going to get f******-up or die in the Nam. Too many ghosts.

Best was graduating.

Worst was the walking. Walking 12 to 15 miles at night takes forever, especially when you are half asleep.
