It shows up in itunes with all the correct information. But when i look at the actual file, it has a number for the name. How do i convert it back?

I am talkin about the actual file in my itunes folder on my computer. It doesnt have the original name or anything. it just has a number.

If you are looking at the file on your iPod, then there is nothing you can do. iTunes changes the file name on your iPod to try and stop people from copying the music to other computers. The actual music file on your computer (probably in the iTunes folder in the My Music Folder) still has the original song name, and so does iTunes.

use explorer and rename it like any other file.

Write a script to extract the ID3 tag information and rename the files to something appropriate. You will never be able to get the original filename back though. And anything without tags won't work. But you got all your songs through iTunes so it should all be good. ;)
