My rott weiler has some sort of infection on her paw and I don't know what to do for her. I can't afford to take her to the vet, it looks so bad. I've put some peroxide on it a couple times, but it doesn't seem to help. I have a picture of it so if you send me an email I'll send you it, but I really need some help.

I usually take her to the vet when this kind of stuff happens, but at the current time I don't have enough money for her.

well.call the vets and explain it to them.tell them you dont have enough money to take care of her/him and hope they will understand. If that doesnt work then i would just keep doing what you are doing now and see if it clears up...If it gets any better then just keep up with the peroxide on it.Good luck.if none of that works then see if you can find a vet on here and chat with them on the net and explain to them what could have hapened, show them the pic and do everything you can to fix you puppy's prob.good luk...

Peroxide disinfects - but it also damages healthy surrounding tissue - stop. Flushing with plain water will help flush the wound out...but you have to go to the vet. Try to set up a payment plan - this is your responsibility as a pet owner...if you cannot afford it, you should not have an animal. There is also a program called Carecredit - you apply for a credit card for pets to pay for the treatment - then pay that off. Almost all vet clinics are happy to work with you on this.

My guess is that the wound has to be properly flushed, bandaged and your dog needs to be put on oral antibiotics. If this happened to your foot, would you just hope that it was going to go away? Your dog is in pain, do the right thing.

Your dog probably stepped on something that got stuck in her foot or got a cut that is having trouble healing. Try soaking her paw in warm water. Also, try to keep her from walking on rough ground that could hurt her paw. If it continues to get worse you really need to take her to a vet or else the infection will spread. Some vets will work to find a way to pay for treatment. Also it doesn't cost anything to call the vet and ask for advise. Good luck!

sweetie, you NEED to find a vet that will either let you make payments, OR you need to call your local Humane Society or SPCA. explain your situation and get your dog the help she needs.
this sounds like a bad infection and the only thing that will help that is ANTIBIOTICS!!
what is your idea of expensive?? $40- $100.....some vets don't charge too much, and some WILL work with you.
the humane society or SPCA might be able to help with the cost of the treatment. but i am telling you this...if you DON'T get her the help she needs she WILL get very very sick, and perhaps the infection could spread and cause a life threatening infection.
PLEASE call around, get prices, get info on whether they will let you work out a payment plan, call the SPCA ask them to help you.

DO NOT bandage the wound...that will trap bacteria and make the wound worse. until you find a vet, or SPCA help...keep it clean, and dry.

An infection needs medical attention. The dog will need the right antibiotics to fix it. Borrow money from a family member or friend who trusts you to pay them back.
