It's almost my boyfriends birthday, and he really wants an english bulldog, but these dogs are very expensive for me. What can I do to get one fairly cheap????

I do not suggest getting a cheap dog...especially an English Bulldog. These dogs need special care and need to be in the best environment to promote their health. You need to be positive of it's pedigree background, less you run the risk acquiring a dog who will have many health problems and keep you in the vet's office.
Go on-line and do a search for English Bulldog breeders in your area and give them a call. Get an idea of the cost. They may even have an adult that may be less expensive. You may also try ( on-line) English Bulldog rescue organizations. You may be able to acquire a rescued dog which will be much cheaper. In those cases though he will have to submit an application and pass a human inspection to prove if he meet their standards for ownership.
If there is a breeder near your area, give him a surprise ride to the breeder for a look-see and just an all around fun day.

Rescues. Not only are they cheap, saving a life and giving him a good home.. but they also have a variety of what he might like.
Are you sure he wants a dog? Anddd can handle it though?

Er...dream on? Yeah,I know,not very helpful. How'bout starting a BULLDOG FUND? Get a big jar,label w/"what's -his-names DOG!" & keep adding to it.

Adoption, in the paper they run fairly cheaper.
