My 3 year-old boxer is allergic to bees and my vet recommended that I give her benadryl if she gets stung, so It's possible that the cough medicine is safe. You should really call a vet first though, especially if the dog was in a house fire. Did the dog see the vet after the fire? there could be smoke damage in the lungs.

Take her to the vet! Could be from the fire but it could also be kennel cough. She doens't have to actually be in a kennel to get kennel cough. I would not give her medicine without first talking to your vet.

Even though your dog has not been to a kennel, it could have kennel cough. This can be contracted while visiting a vet's office. It can easily be treated. Contact your vet.

Boxers have very sensitive systems. I wouldn't give the dog any human medicine. You should contact your local vet If your in a timezone that no body's open try going on line to a state in a different time zone and call a vet.

Smoke can damage lungs. you NEED to get her to a Vet and have them listen to her. PLEASE DO NOT give her human medication. your vet will be able to give you what she needs. her lungs are probably damaged and are still recovering from smoke inhalation.
