A man is born to poor parents. They raise him well with what little they have. They have him join a small town cult. One of the volunteers for the cult who watches the children singles him out - and abuses him. From then on the child learns to hate that cult. And years of men who rob from him, and do violence against him from that cult only serve to cement that feeling against other cults. Finally he looks into abberant cults and finds power and horrors so he leaves the abberant cults and studies nature cults for a while. Then studies a cult devoted to the idea of peace....until he finds that the pieace is there only as an ornament it is really a cult of the sword. So fatigued and exhausted he life spent on cults, he turns to himself and finds peace. Where will this man go after death?

Color_spiral makes a good point (and with impressive simplicity): The fact that he found peace and didn't lose his mind is a genuine miracle. He has redeemed his own life, so how can death possibly matter?

I really have more questions than answers, but given what you've shared, here is my answer, based on what I believe and learned from the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.
Regardless of religion, all mankind will have the true Gospel preached to them when they die. It is up to them to decide if they will accept the Gospel or not. So, it depends if this guy accepts the Gospel on the other side of the veil. If he does then he can attain some level of glory. Since he has found some level of peace on this earth, I assume he is generally speaking a good person, so unless he totally rejects all parts of the Gospel and is a son of perdition, he will attain some level of glory on the other side.

Sounds to me from the description that this boy/man only looked to men for answers and never looked to the bible.

Sadly, he has not found peace, he has found escapism.
Indeed, he has the modicum of faith that GOD instilled in all of us, or he wouldnt have kept searching for so long. He is still searching, just not actively

I certainly would ask him to take this time to study on his own, and study the bible first. After study and perhaps prayer, depending on if he is led toward GOD, he will see that man is as imperfect as the bible states. And that GOD and GOD alone has the answers that he is now silently, quietly searching for.

Even when listening to man, remember to compare that thought to what is written in the bible. Never accept mans words without biblical truth.

Another life.

I believe in reincarnation, religion aside. I'm kind of a "cowboy" on the spirituality thing and I have my own set of beliefs and my own moral code, but because I feel like it will help me live a better life I believe in reincarnation as an afterlife.

If he treats the people in the cults well and he is kind and forgiving he will be reincarnated as a person who has less adversity in his next life.

Your story does not tell if the person ever even heard of Jesus, let alone being presented the story.

There is no mention of Jesus in the total story.

IF the person was presented THE STORY OF SALVATION - and accepted he would go to HEAVEN for sure.

IF the person was presented the story of Salvation and REFUSED he would not get to Heaven.

If the person was never presented the story - similarly, infants and low IQ's -- that person WOULD GO TO HEAVEN because of THE GODS mercy.

A cynic's view

Each religion states that unless you are a member of their 'cult', you will go to hell. now considering this, it is feasible to believe that everyone is going to hell. This man has found peace in himself, without any controling religion dictating how to live his life. After he has died, who knows? I believe his afterlife is what he makes it.

He goes to heaven because Christ has reconciled all people (Acts 3:21, etc.) by His death, resurrection, and Parousia. Spiritual death (seperation between God and man) has been removed (Isa 25:7,8; etc.). Hell was a past covenantal judgment.
