The virus that causes that can lay dormant for years...and suddenly reveal itself in a cold sore. Things that bring on cold sores are often related to increased stress levels. If you know you are getting a cold sore, Lysine helps, especially if you take it for the first three days...it is over the counter in the vitamin area. If you are concerned, talk to your doctor about the best way to treat cold sores. Meanwhile, stay away from intimate contact until it clears. Hope you feel better.
