My cat's name is Father Wiggly. He's a priest. He ministers to the mice.

It depends on the person. A dog is a better pet for me because many people in my family are allergic to cats and I like the personality of a dog better. I have three dogs. But, my grandmother has 2 cats. Cats are better pets for her because she is less active and needs a pet with more independance. My aunt and uncle have both a cat and a dog and they like both of them for different reasons. I think people should decide which pet(s) would be best for them.

They both make good pets. I have one of each. Cats are very independent (can't tell that by my son's cat, however, who can't seem to get close enough to me), but they have their moments when its "love me time" as I call it when my cat, Socksy, wants some attention. She'll come to me. Otherwise, I pretty much leave her alone to do her thing. A dog, on the other hand, will forever be trying to make his owner happy! Dogs are great, too. Cats use litter boxes, that need to be cleaned daily (providing, of course, you have an inside cat). Dogs have to go outside daily. They both require pretty much the same maintenance (shots, tags, etc.). They both require food. Go and check out a couple of each, get a "feel" for them. You will find one that "touches" you.

Dogs are my first choice because, even though they are high maintenance, they are very loving and loyal. If you want a "best friend" in a pet, you need to get a dog. They will give back to you as much or more love as you give to them.

Cats are low maintenance, but they aren't as loving nor loyal. If someone attacks you or your children, your dog will take the challenge to defend you, even if he/she is little - they will bark protest - and if they are a big dog, they will at the very least intimidate your attacker, at best they will actually go after your attacker with full ferocity. A cat, however will take off to avoid conflict.

Please note that if you raise a dog to be only mean, it may be loyal to you alone, but is likely to attack others, even your children. A dog does not have to be taught how to be loyal - it is built in when the dog loves its owners. My personal opinion is that I discourage tying up a dog outside merely to be a watchdog. I find this cruel to the dog to be deprived of love and companionship. Also, I highly discourage owners from training their dogs to be mean and attack. This may be well-intentioned for the purposes of protection, but it can backfire and cause needless injury and/or death to someone innocent and/or helpless to defend themselves.

I truly believe that dogs are better pets then cats. have you ever tried to take a cat for a walk or even teach them anything at all, a cat never comes to the door to greet you when you come home from work happy to see you.

Speaking as one who has had both all my life, it's a DOG handsdown! They can be more of a friend than any cat. I always loved taking my dogs for a nice walk. My one dog actually played with an old bowling ball! Cats are nice, but a dog can be a true friend

Definitely a cat. Cats don't stink like dogs. They also don't need baths or a walking at 2 AM in the rain.

It relies upon. an outside cat is astounding--no cat muddle to scoop and no hairballs to freshen up. An indoor cat is fantastic, yet each and each and every of the muddle and injuries and staining territory (I propose spraying!) are not from now on distinctive interesting. in spite of the indisputable fact that, the business enterprise of a cat relies upon on it is mood, no longer yours. A canines both indoor or out is sweet too. They always look satisfied to ascertain you and always pick interest. housebreaking can be a difficulty, yet in case you artwork lengthy hours there are domestic dog practise pads so that you could use. i do not propose them if you're hardcore set on practise your canines to bypass outdoors only. i understand that sounds strange, yet some human beings may quite no longer let their canines outdoors in any respect. (ie my better 0.5's father has 5 min pins that do not bypass outdoors in any respect and use the tutorial pads). it is large for him because of his artwork agenda, yet when we were given between the domestic dogs he had, she became six months previous (in 2004) and nevertheless has difficulty going outdoors to apply the lavatory. purely be positive of what you pick so a procedures as housebreaking. i in my view imagine that canines make a better physically powerful significant different too.

I like cats, I have 2. They are a trip. I cant say one is better than the other because they have different personalities. I choose both.
