My fiance and I are on honeymoon from UK later this year around Ponhook Lake (near Liverpool NS)........ Can anybody describe their experience of this place? Do you live near by (or in NS) and know it well. Is the water clean.....? Whats NS like? stuff like that. Your input and opinions will be greatly appreciated. MANY THANKS

I'm from Nova Scotia. Liverpool is handy to all the attractions on the south shore of Nova Scotia. There's the fishing community of Lunenburg which is a UNESCO world heritage sight. The marine museum there has good displays on the golden age of sail, whaling and the rum-running days. Liverpool is close to the pirate treasure dig on Oak Island, and the last virgin forests in NS. Down the road Chester is a very nice little town that doubles in population during the summer. Lots of yachts there. Mahone Bay NS is just plain post card pretty, with an Anglican, Lutheran and United church next to each other by the sea. Peggy's Cove is also worth seeing, although it's become a bit of a cliche tourist trap. Anyways; folks in Nova Scotia are really nice so you will have a good time.

I noticed there is a "Halifax" catagory. You might want to post your question there. Halifax is a city in Nova Scotia and is the capital of it. I'm from British Columbia and I've never been to NS. From what I heard its freindly and windy and no sunday shopping. Sorry I can't help.
