i just had to pick up my cousins age 12 and 16 because my brother was just tossed in jail. he is their only 'active' parent. please help. i'm poor and can't afford 2 more kids.

First of all congratulations for picking up your bro's kids. It sounds like they really need some family support. Hopefully your Brother will straighten out for his kid's sake. In the meantime call your local Children's Aid or Child Welfare Dept. they should be able to provide some financial assistance. Good luck.

You should be able to get state assist if this is the case you need to make some calls and ask for help you should be able to get some kind of compensation.

Apply to social services to be their foster parent. You can receive money from the state to take care of the children.
