It is not viewed as obsolete jackass.

There are females in harm's way, but they are not doing 4 man stacks and hitting objectives like the men are. So yes the combat exclusion is still there, in a modern sense. Go GOOGLE the nonlinear battlefield already.

Women are not allowed to be in front line combat units on the ground. They do serve in logistical ground units that frequently come under fire in Iraq. Women DO serve as combat pilots with the Air Force and Navy and also serve on naval combatants.

Yes. The greatest amount of deaths due to "Friendly Fire" in Desert Storm was due to female Chopper Pilots. Women do not belong in ANY combat situation.
