I would get catnip oil, garlic oil, citronila, and rosemary essential oils and spray my door with the suff. I would also spray the stuff on the bedroom door and on the seal of the door.
There are several ways to prevent mosquitoes from biting you
Wear Socks: 80% of all bites are on the ankle
Wear closed toed shoes for the same reason
Avoid Bannanas during the mosquito season: Bannanas produce a scent that mosquitoes go ape over
Avoid sugary drinks because they also attract mosquitoes
Drink unseetened citrus. Despite being sweet, citrus does not attract mosquitoes and in fact repels them
Vitamin B Complex deters mosquitoes
Garlic also deters those vampires
Use essential oils' catnip and rosemary;
Last year, several members of the Iowa State University Department of Entomology presented the results of a study on common catnip. Among their conclusions was the fact that an essential oil in catnip is 10 times more effective at repelling mosquitoes than potent chemicals such as DEET.

Eliminate standing water in your community or at least in your neighborhood:A couple of drops of Citronella Oil, Neem Oil, or Catnip will prevent eggs from hatching.
Recycle and dispose of old tires and other containers where mosquitoes breed
Shower with unscented shampoos and laundry detergent. Strong scents attract mosquitoes.
Avoid going out in the hour after dawn and the hour before dawn. Over 80% of bites occur when the temperature is perfect for breeding in the hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset.

Empty any standing water that you have (Old buckets, birdbaths, ect) Smoke also helps. Try some Citronella candles. You can also contact your local township office. Some townships will come out and spray if they are too bad. Especially with all the rain the Northeast has had. Good Luck!

Loews and Home Depot sell citronella plants. They cost about 3 dollars each. I have several in pots on my patio and I have not been bitten in 2 years.

dump any standing water near your house(change your pets water daily) thats the best way to keep them down. Also use citranella candles (bannanas actually draw mosquitoes, and the color blue, don't ask me why)

i know air conditioning helps. i was in my home country guyana last year and our place was well air conditioned so they stayed away. theyre attracted to moist environments too. and eating bananas repels them from biting, i think its the potassium but im not sure.
