Or do I need to seriously worry? It doesn't hurt, but is very bothersome. I have no medical insurance currently, so I am looking into home remedies that may work. Please help and thanks.

It depends on the pill you took because some pills are designed to only dissolve in the high-acid content of your stomach. If you can't cough it up after a day or so, go to the ER because if it gets caught in your lung it can cause serious problems. When you get your bill from the ER, call the billing number and set up a payment plan. Even if you can only pay $10 per month, they can't send you to collections.

Take care.

I think it depends on the pill, but even if you dont have an insurance, cant you at least call an ambulance for first aid...or maybe call or go to a pharmacy to ask?
Maybe it would be best if you tried to cough it out some way. I don't know if it might be dangerous for your lungs if you just let it dissolve, but they will. Surely, they'll give you advice even at a pharmacy or help you better if you go there.

Depends ... "eventually" can be a very long time. I believe some pills are designed to be fairly resilient until they are broken down by the stomach's acid.

I would encourage you to get advice from a physician ... as having a foreign object in your windpipe could become a life-threatening situation should it shift and seal off the airflow to your lungs.

It will eventually dissolve, but whatever is in it might irritate your esophagus. You need to get it down. Try eating a banana or drinking some milk. You could also try some hot tea; that might dissolve the sticky outer coating enough for it to slide down. Good luck!

Drink big gulps of water to help wash it down. Maybe try warmer water to help dissolve the pill. Oh - you could also try burping, that's helped me in the past!

yes... and it is probably gone as i write this. next time drink lots of liquids and dont lie down until it has cleared. make sure the pill is legal...and tell doctors you attend to prescribe small pills outlining your problem. if over the counter..select a smaller coated pill...
