How about a Chevy Cobalt? My baby sis got one for $14000 and it rocks! My personal car of choice, under no particular category, is the VW Jetta, it has the safest crash test rating that I know of, and I'll need something really safe to drive, once I know how!!!

If you have $15,000 in cash and want something fast & sporty but still have good mileage you should go buy a 2002 - 2003 Saab 95 Areo. Good fun car with decent mileage.
