You simply cannot put a price on something as precious as life, especially the life of your own offspring.
We live in a civilized society where laws exist to prevent such things, and if a child of mine were kidnapped, I'd rely on the experience of law enforcement to remedy the situation.
I have no experience with such matters, and I would turn to experts. I would also assume the kidnappers had minimal experience (since kidnapping is hardly a career choice) and I'd bet the law enforcement officials would be well-schooled in how to handle such a situation.
That being said, I guess tax money pays for it, and I've been paying taxes all my life. I guess we're paying for all that public service folks provide all the time, and almost regardless of how crazy things may get in our lives, we have to depend upon the experienced public servants we pay to help us out.

I would give whatever I had if my child was ever kidnapped and I don't have a kid yet but my future kids would be appreciative. I think it would be wrong if you aren't willing to give anything for your child, there is nothing in this world that I couldn't live without except for the people in this world who mean the world to me.

I would give the kidnapper all of the money I have. Unfortunately for the kidnapper, after the bills are paid that is only about a buck 25. I would have to hope for a kidnapper that would let me work the ransom off somehow. You know, give me back my kid and I'll watch your kids for free. Or, since I am a teacher, I could offer to teach the kidnapper how to pick victims with parents who actually HAVE money?

I dont have a child. If I did, and he was kidnapped, I would pay that person a penny. I would make him a promiss that when I find out where that person is, I would cut each one of his toes off, one at a time, then cut 1 inch off his arm at a time, cover it, allow it to heal, and cut another inch off, untill there were nothing left

i wouldnt pay anything be smarter than the kidnapper set him up and take the police with you because if they say they'll kill your child their probably bluffing they wont do anything until they get the money because if they got caught and they killed your child you would know what they looked like and he could recieve the death penelty or life in prison you would lose your child but there are multiple families who have gone through the same thing there are sick and twisted people out there but maybe there will be someway we can get them off the street! just play it safe and god bless you!

It would be difficult however I would have no guarantee that I would get my child back alive. So I like to think I would not pay a single cent.

I wouldn't pay. I don't have spare money but I would get the police on board and make phone calls to the press. Amber alert on the tv stations.
