I am getting my teeth bleached by my dentist very soon, it will be in-office bleaching, and I need to know what foods and drinks to avoid after I get them bleached because I heard that certain foods/drinks will stain your teeth, so which foods/drinks do I avoid?

(10 points for the one who acutally names a lot, like a list of the foods and drinks.)

It's not that you have to avoid foods you just need to be careful in how you eat and drink. Drink dark drinks like cola or mixed drinks from a straw. Bring a toothbrush and that'll help you as well. I think Reach came out with something that brushes and flosses your teeth so that might be easy to carry in your pocket.

Coffee, tea, colas, kool-aid, cranberry juice, red wine, grape juice, any colored drinks.

Blueberries, carrots, beets, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, blueberries, and tomato sauce..

Instead try.... water, grapefruit juice, ginger ale, chamomile tea, white wine vinegar, olive oil and white meat.

Don't drink red wine after bleaching!

Be careful of hot and cold foods that can change the temperature of your teeth which may cause your teeth to expand and contract allowing stains to penetrate your teeth.

Your dentist will let you know what foods to avoid. Big stainers of teeth are:

tobacco products
coffee
tea
iced tea
blueberries
any beverage with a purple/blue color added
blue/purple popsicles

Ask your dentist. Better yet, read all the material he or she will give you at that appointment. Don't ask strangers on a message board when you have your dentist available to you.
