What is suede made from?

i don't like it if is from an animal but how can i tell if it's fake? i'd rather have something be fake than have an animal die for it.

It is animal skin, but you should read the labels to see if what you're buying is real suede or fake. Fake suede is sometimes called "ultrasuede"

Its made from little suedes that are kept in small cages so their skin will stay soft.
