PLenty. It used to be that nearly all charities feeding the hungry, curing disease and sheltering homeless were Christian. If that isn't enough for you, nothing will be.

Religion has given us more than just understanding of past and probably present. But an understanding of the purpose of life and how to live it with meaning and merit. Rules about living if we didn't have religion women would probably still be classified as bad omen without a soul and people would kill each other without a care in the world with and there wouldn't be any consequences.

Religion has provided a very curious creature with answers to the most important questions like...
Who are we?
Why are we here?
Why do we reason?
Is there good and evil?
What happens to our "personality" after we die?
It has also been used to subjugate populations into obedience, such as the Pan-Germanism of Adolf Hitler, the atheism of Stalin and Chairman Mao, the Islamic Theocracy of Iran, the Spanish Inquisitions, etc.

I'm sure that hospitals work better with doctors and medical instruments than priests and prayers.
I guess that a long time ago, religion had its benefits, as a mean to control poorly educated societies. Right now? I think it has no benefits at all, and the benefits they propose require to die to get them. Suspicious, huh?
EDIT:
Religion doesn't give us an understanding of the purpose of life, there is no understanding in dogmas.

Thur television, it has helped some people get rich, and taught the world how easy it is to con people out of their money. It has help make people to be afraid of almost everything.
And let's not forget that it has helped all those older people how to have sex with small children.

Oh I know... nope, that was science too...
Does holding people back from knowledge count as a "benefit"? Because if not, I can't think of a single thing.

Well if they hadn't used it as a justification to kill off the Native Americans force fed the slaves religion the whites wouldn't have owned as much land and the slaves would have revolted and the U.S. economy wouldn't be as strong as it is today. Then the communists would have won the cold war and who knows what would have happened then.

Answer: the Roman Catholic Church.
And the Catholic Church's charitable work is just the beginning of the humanitarianism performed by religious organizations in general.
