im not a hater, but i thought your question was good.
i think you should watch "what the bleep do we know". its has poor and lengthy graphics at some parts, but some of what the people have to say is really good. it addresses the different chemicals in our brain that shoot out different emotions. what some people think is "knowing" god is really endorphins from the brain. also look into conditioning, and remember that we create our own reality.

God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God's power and was attested as God's promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things. (John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3.)

We all know the LORD ALMIGHTY at our level, based on our needs and our understanding. A baby "knows" his mom at one level, his toddler sibling knows the mom at another level, and the teenager knows the MOM at yet another level. OUR understanding or lack there of does not define the CREATOR!!
The CREATOR ultimately is fully known only to HIMSELF. We know a little part of Him, which we can fathom and understand based on our abilities and understandings.
Only the ignorant judge people for what they know or do not know, as we are all learning. There is little difference between the most learned and the least learned in the larger scheme of things if you see what is there to learn and what our most learned may know. So, humility is the key.
Homosexualiy if it became rampant, and common would kill off the human race. If any of your ancestors was a practicing homosexual, you would not exist today to talk about the subject. Do not compare homosexuality with anti-semitism or racism.
Racists base their hate on superficial things such as skin color or eye color or hair color and physique. I would prefer a decent neighbor any day who is of any color than a hoodlum of any color. I can not say the same about a homosexual person, who may want to turn my son to his way, when he has no rights to do so and take away my genes from being propagated to the next generation. A homosexual can be a real threat to your genes and your very existence in the future.
Anti-semites in my view are people who have limited knowledge of Judaism. If they really knew TRUE JUDAISM, they would not hate the great ones of the LORD who toiled to establish justice and mercy on this Earth.
Nothing is too complex to understand.
If you regularly touch or put feces on your finger or in your mouth, it would be fairly disgusting to most people. If you put feces on your penis or in the orifice of your penis it would be equally disgusting to someone like me, who may fit your description of a homophobe.
In my view it is a totally learnt behavior which is being spread through misinformation. I do know some men are effiminate due to genetic reasons, but they are far and few in comparison to those who learn this behavior.
Homosexuality in my personal opinion is a true threat to the human race itself. If all males and females would become homosexual, we will have the largest ever holocaust within one generation. So think about that!!

Dear shawnybaby82,
I am not sure I understand your question exactly, but let me answer the first part of it--"Why do many people assume to know God?" Many people believe that they are "Christians" or know God because of something they have done. They have given a testimony in fron t of the congregation, or been baptized, or spoken in a strange language. If we examine Ephesians 2:8, 9 and Titus 3:5 we see that there is nothing we can do to make ourselves saved or a child of God. The Lord tells us in Matthew 7:21-23 soem very frightening words. Many shall say to me in that day (Judgement Day) Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name cast out devil, and in thy name done many wonderful works? And the Lord shall reply to them, Depart from me ye workers of iniquity, I never knew you. The word knowing means "saved" or born again. That is these people were doing all kinds of religious works but had never had their sins paid for by Christ and so would have to go to hell to pay for them!
Let us look at 1 John 2:3, 4. The Bible says: "Herein we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that sayeth I know Him and keepeth not His commandments is a liar; and the truth is not in him. Jesus tells us in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." You see to "know" God means to be born again or saved. If you would like further info please see this website: www.familyradio.com.
As far as understanding God--there is no one who can understand God! God is an infinite being! He has no beginning and no end. He never gets old or tired. His power cannot be measured! Our puny minds do not even have the ability to comprehend a being such as the Lord.

I am not any of the groups listed. I know Christ as my savior and through Him I am learning more about God everyday. I have been getting to know Him for 35 years, the past 7 in intensive Bible study. I will never know everything about God, while I am here on earth, but I am always learning more about Him! Have you studied the Bible? Why not try to get to know God through Christ. The only way to the Father is through the son.

Those people don't really know God, because God is loving and kind. To know God isn't too hard if you try, just reach out and He is waiting for you.

No one knows God but he who knows Christ can come to know God. You don't have to be so rude in your question. I understand people out there are rude but you should be the sugar if you're a Christian in this bitter world.

Is it just me or does Seraph's response make absolutely NO sense. I'm not a homophobe, anti-semite or racist so I can't really answer your question but there are people who aren't those things who claim the same.

I don't know what a homophopic is, but I do know that I am not a homophobic. As in, I am not afraid of them, though I do not agree with their lifestyle. But I do know God, and that is because He has revealed Himself in His Word to all mankind.
