The ethics of any war are debatable....But in war you must follow orders and most solders are not told of the generals plans...would they continue to fight if they knew, yes some would I think.....but I don't know.

Yes decoy forces have always been used. Just because your a decoy don't mean your not doing any good or are just going to get killed.

In the original Gulf war, some Marines and Naval forces were used as a decoy to make the Iraqi's think the invasion was coming from sea into Kuwait.

During D-day the Navy and Air force bombed the Pas De Calias to make the Germans think the invasion was coming there.

Like it or not, soldiers are expendable assets. They are trained not to think for themselves, and are used any way the military band-wagon wants to use them. It's a shame they are not told this when they sign up. Ethical or not, wars are built on the stupidity of soldiers following even stupider orders, made by selfish men who risk nothing but a vote.

Ablolutely its part of the life of a soldier and they know it. They signed up for battle and are ready to fight no matter what and make better citizens than some whiny little whimps, sitting behind a computer who are afraid of getting a little cut and don't have the guts to defend their own country!!!

Its a proven war strategy

The idea is to keep the largest number of your people alive.
