we have a glass full of water how can we make it half empty, we don't have any measuring instrument ?

Empty what your best guess is half the water. Mark the water line with a felt pen. Cover the glass with saran wrap and turn it over. Check the mark and add or subtract water until the line is the same either way.

BTW: Kentucky's answer wont work with irregular shaped glass.
